AI Healthcare: The Future of Women’s Health Innovation

Louise’s practice area covers healthcare regulatory, related intellectual property and  commercial contracts matters for clients in the healthcare sector, both public and private.  Prior to becoming a lawyer she studied Physiology and spent several years in medical research at Nottingham University.  Her research work in Cardiovascular Physiology produced 15 published academic papers in peer reviewed journals including British Medical Journal, Lancet and American Journal of Physiology. This background has naturally led her to have a particular interest and expertise in advising on matters with a complex technical or scientific content.  Louise also co-led a legal and ethical workpackage for a recently completed EU funded IMI healthcare research project on using big data to improve prostate cancer outcomes and has been appointed to the independent advisory board of SMARTCare, an EU programme for improving communications and records access in cancer care.

Dr Tauseef Mehrali is Flo Health Inc.’s  VP of Regulatory.

He recently was the VP of Medical Safety & Regulatory Affairs at Ada Health. Whilst still a practising NHS GP, he is an expert in digital health safety and regulation, and oversaw the team that worked on Ada’s successful application for Class IIa EU-MDR certification.

Tauseef has also previously sat as the clinical specialist on a NICE Quality Standards Framework Committee developing guidelines on promoting health and preventing premature mortality in Black, Asian and other Minority Ethnic groups.

He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters in Medical Sciences, Ethics & Law, and holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Birmingham with distinction in medicine. He spoke at HealthTechX as well as at the inaugural BMJ Research Forum at Tavistock House on a panel entitled ‘Pathways to impact: Evidence and regulation in the digital age’.
